Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To choose the correct starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm whether the motor uses 1 phase or 3 phase power. The starter must be rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, select the control power used to activate the contactor and choose the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA found previously. Optional criteria for selection may include whether the incoming power will serve as the control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or if a "separate control voltage" is used. For scenarios requiring activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for "remote start terminals." If both line voltage and control voltage differ, options include "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 9A 3 phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil rated for 250-500V AC/DC, along with an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
