Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters comprise a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, one should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, control power used to close the contactor must be chosen, along with an overload that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria include whether to use line power as control power, which designates the starter as a "direct-online starter," or if a separate control voltage is required. In cases where activation from an external switch is necessary, terminals can be added for remote start capabilities, assuming the line and control voltages are the same or are configured as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." This model features a 9A, 3-phase configuration with a separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, and a reset button only, accommodating a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC and an overload range of 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
