Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, begin by checking the motor or equipment nameplate to confirm the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring you identify whether it's single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of your motor. Consider the control power needed to engage the contactor, and select an overload relay by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA determined earlier. For additional customization, options include: incoming power configuration, where line power serves as control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, termed "separate control voltage." For starters activated by an external switch, terminals for control power input can be added, labeled as "remote start terminals," or combined with distinct voltages for line and control power as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals."
