Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, one should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The selection process then involves determining the control power for the contactor closure and selecting an overload with a current range that includes the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, which can be a direct-online starter using line power for control or a separate control voltage where the control voltage differs from the line voltage. Additionally, options for activating the starter via external switches can be included, referred to as remote start terminals. Key features of the motor starter include a 9A rating, compatibility for one phase, a separate coil voltage, start/stop functionality, and a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC, with an overload relay range of 3.1-4.2A, all enclosed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate housing.
