Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. For the overload, select a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power: a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates different voltages. If activation is from an external switch, the starter will require terminals for control power input, known as "remote start terminals." If both different line and control voltages are used with remote start terminals, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features include a 9A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 5.7-7.6A overload relay in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
