Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. A starter should be chosen that has a current rating higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, along with selecting the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA. Additional options include the choice of incoming power, which can be a direct-online starter if the line power is used as the control power, or a separate control voltage if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, and if using different voltages for line and control power, the configuration is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Features of the kit include a 9A 1-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
