Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Control power for closing the contactor must then be selected, followed by the overload selection that contains the FLA of the motor. Additionally, optional criteria include the type of incoming power, where a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while a "separate control voltage" indicates different line and control voltages. "Remote start terminals" can be added for activation from an external switch, assuming the line and control voltages are the same, or in the case of differing voltages, it is noted as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The specific features of this kit include a 9A 1-phase separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 2.3-3.1A, all housed in a NEMA 4X poly enclosure.
