Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate and ensure the compatibility with 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. The control power needed to close the contactor must also be determined, along with selecting an overload current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations: "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if they differ, and options for "remote start terminals" to activate the starter from an external switch. Notable features of the starter include a 9A rating, 1-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 2.3-3.1A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
