Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters comprise a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To determine the appropriate starter for specific requirements, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Users should confirm whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase and select a starter rated for higher current (amps) than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to engage the contactor must also be chosen, along with an overload that covers the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, such as direct-online starters or separate control voltage setups. For external activation, the inclusion of remote start terminals may be specified, with options available for configurations with differing line and control voltages.
