Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is a 1-phase or 3-phase power supply. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Additional selection criteria include whether the incoming power will be used as the control power, labeled as a "direct-online starter," or if a separate control voltage is required when it differs from line voltage, along with options for remote start terminals if activation from an external switch is needed.
