Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring the correct identification of single-phase or three-phase power. Select a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor, and choose the control power for closing the contactor. For the overload relay, select a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include whether the line power will also be used as control power, which is known as a "direct-online starter," or if a separate control voltage is required. If activation from an external switch is needed, the configuration will include remote start terminals. Key features of these motor starters include a 12A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals for start/stop operations, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
