Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, which can be classified as a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If activating the starter from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power input, known as "remote start terminals." If different voltages are used for line power and control power, this is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 12A 3-phase configuration, remote start terminals, a start/stop mechanism, a coil voltage of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
