Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power configuration—whether the line power will be used as control power (direct-online starter) or if a separate control voltage will be used. If external activation is required, remote start terminals can be added. Notable features include a 12A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
