Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage. Ensure you identify whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power and choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power needed to close the contactor. For overload selection, choose a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria for starter selection include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" for line power used as control power, "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages, and "remote start terminals" for activating the starter from an external switch. Key features of the starters include 12A capacity, 3-phase operation, separate coil voltage functionality, start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 5.7-7.6A.
