Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by choosing the overload based on a current range that contains the FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power where line power may also serve as control power, classified as a "direct-online starter," or if the control and line voltage differ, referred to as "separate control voltage." Additionally, if activation from an external switch is required, terminals can be added for "remote start terminals," assuming line and control voltages are the same, or as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are utilized. Key features of the motor starters include a 12A 3-phase direct online reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 2.3-3.1A overload.
