Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure, ensuring durability and protection against harsh environments. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA, along with the control power to close the contactor. Select an overload that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power options, categorized as "direct-online starter" if the line power also serves as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if the voltages differ. If needed, remote start terminals can be added for external switch activation, with the assumption that line and control voltages are the same, or configured with separate control voltage and remote start terminals if different voltages are used. Key features of the starter include a rating of 12A, designed for three-phase operation, with a direct online capability, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 3.1-4.2A overload relay, and a robust NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
