Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the correct starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage and confirm if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Opt for a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Next, determine the control power required to close the contactor. Then choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. The selection process can be refined further based on optional criteria such as incoming power: "Direct-Online Starter" implies using line power for control power, while "Separate Control Voltage" indicates a different control voltage. For systems that require activation via an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, allowing for configuration of "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals" if different voltages are used. Key features include a direct online start/stop capability of 12A for three-phase applications, a coil voltage of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload rating of 7.6-10A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
