Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. The selection of the proper starter requires verifying the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming the phase of power (1-phase or 3-phase), and ensuring the starter is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Additional selection criteria include the choice of control power for the contactor, selecting an overload current range that includes the FLA, and determining the type of incoming power: either direct-online starter or separate control voltage. For starters requiring activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. The features include 12 A 3-phase remote start terminals, start/stop capability, a 100-250 V AC/DC coil, a 3.1-4.2 A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
