Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, as well as the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA. Additional selection criteria include incoming power for direct-online starters or separate control voltage, as well as the option for remote start terminals to accept control power from an external switch. Key features include a 12A three-phase configuration with separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a start/stop functionality, and a 24-60V AC/DC coil with a 3.1-4.2A overload rating, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
