Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to identify whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is important to choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor should be determined next, followed by selecting an overload with a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. The starter may also be tailored based on optional criteria such as incoming power, which can be categorized as a "direct-online starter" when line power also serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage. For situations requiring activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals." If different voltages are used for line and control power while also incorporating remote start terminals, this is categorized as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of this starter include a 12A 3 phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
