Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select the starter for your application, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage; confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is important to choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA of the motor. Then, select the control power for the contactor and the overload based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Options for configuration include direct-online starter, separate control voltage, and remote start terminals, depending on whether the control power aligns with the line voltage and if activation is needed from an external switch. Notable features include a 12A single-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 10-13A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
