Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, consisting of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to determine if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, then select the control power to close the contactor and an overload that contains the FLA of the motor. Consider optional criteria such as incoming power; if the line power is also used as control power, it is a "direct-online starter," whereas if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is a "separate control voltage." For activation via an external switch, add terminals for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals." The product offers features including a 12A rating, three-phase capability, a separate coil voltage, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 7.6-10A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
