Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to account for whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Additionally, choose the control power for the contactor and select an overload relay with a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power type: "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if differently rated voltages are used. For external activation, remote start terminals can be added, with the assumption that the line and control voltages are the same; if they differ, this is designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of the motor starter include a rating of 12A for 3-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rating of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
