Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters, accommodating motors up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. When selecting the appropriate starter, it is important to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage and determine if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be chosen, along with selecting the overload from a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: if line power is used as control power, it is categorized as a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is termed "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be incorporated, designated as "remote start terminals." If different voltages are in use, the arrangement is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The featured specifications include a rating of 12 A, three-phase capability, remote start terminals, a reset button only, coil voltage of 100-250 V AC/DC, overload range of 7.6-10 A, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
