Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters, accommodating motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage supplied, ensuring to check whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter that is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload relay, which should be within a current range that encompasses the FLA. Additional selection criteria include the type of incoming power, such as direct-online starter configurations or those requiring separate control voltage. Options for remote start terminals are available for activating the starter from an external switch. The technical specifications of the motor starter include a rating of 12A, 3-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 4.2-5.7A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
