Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The incoming power can be categorized as direct-online starter if the line power serves as the control power, or as separate control voltage if not. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, with assumptions regarding line and control voltage being the same. Key features include: a current rating of 12A, compatibility with 3-phase power, direct online operation, a reset button, a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload range of 5.7-7.6A. The product is housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
