Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage, and confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria to consider include the incoming power type—whether it will be a "direct-online starter" utilizing line power for control or a "separate control voltage" option. Additionally, if external activation through a switch is required, remote start terminals can be added. Features of the kit include a 12 A 3-phase separate coil voltage with a reset button, a coil rated for 100-250 V AC/DC, and an overload current rating of 10-13 A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
