Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage indicated on the motor or equipment nameplate, while confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor and determine the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be selected to encompass the FLA range from step 1. Optional criteria include: Incoming power options, where "direct-online starter" refers to using line power as control power, "separate control voltage" indicates differing line and control voltages, and "remote start terminals" allow activation from an external switch under the assumption that line and control voltages are the same. If remote start terminals are needed with separate voltage for line and control power, this is identified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The kit features a specification of 12 A 3-phase with a separate coil voltage and remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil rated for 100-250V AC/DC, alongside an overload rating of 10-13 A within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
