Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA from the previous step. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration, which can be a direct-online starter if the line power also serves as the control power, or separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. Additionally, remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, accommodating different line and control voltages.
