Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring the correct input voltage and determining whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. The starter must be rated for current higher than the FLA. Additionally, choose the appropriate control power for closing the contactor and select the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power, with options for direct-online starters or separate control voltage, and the choice of remote start terminals for activation from an external switch.
