Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) and determine whether your motor requires 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for amps higher than the FLA, and select the control power that will close the contactor. The overload must be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA. The starter can be configured with different options, including incoming power choices such as "direct-online starter" for matching line and control voltages, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation via an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming that the line and control voltages align.
