Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA. For incoming power options, if the line power will also serve as control power, it is a "direct-online starter," while "separate control voltage" applies if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. If separate voltages are used with remote start terminals, it is designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of the starter specifically include a 12A 1 phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 2.3-3.1A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
