Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor nameplate, ensuring to confirm if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor and the overload must be selected based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: if the line power is also used as control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is termed "separate control voltage." For starters requiring activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. For situations using different voltages, the configuration is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The featured specifications include a 12A 1-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, operating between 100-250V AC/DC, and a 10-13A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
