Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. The options to consider include incoming power, which can be a direct-online starter if the line power is used as the control power, or a separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. Additionally, for activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be added, referred to as remote start terminals. The features of the motor starter include a 12A 1-phase separate coil voltage with a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 5.7-7.6A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
