Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to check if the power is single-phase or three-phase. Users must select a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor should then be chosen, followed by selecting an overload that accommodates the FLA determined earlier. The selection can be further refined based on optional criteria including incoming power type—either "direct-online starter" where line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. The features of these motor starters include a 12A 1 phase separate coil voltage start/stop, compatible with a 100-250V AC/DC coil, providing 3.1-4.2A overload protection, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
