Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to determine the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to confirm if the power supply is 1-phase or 3-phase. The starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be selected, along with an overload that contains the FLA of the motor. The selection process involves considering incoming power options, such as a "direct-online starter," a "separate control voltage" configuration, or the inclusion of "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. The features of the starter include a 12A rating for 1-phase direct online, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and overload protection rated at 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
