Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is important to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate and ensure compatibility with the input voltage, distinguishing between 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is necessary to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power for actuating the contactor must also be selected based on the requirements. Overload protection is determined by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. Additional selection criteria may include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages, or configurations with "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch, maintaining the same voltage for line and control. Key features include 12A capacity for 1-phase, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and 4.2-5.7A overload protection, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
