Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. The options should include incoming power considerations, where the line power is used as control power (direct-online starter), or when different voltages are involved (separate control voltage). If activation from an external switch is required, remote start terminals can be added, maintaining the assumption that line voltage and control voltage are the same unless specified otherwise. Key features include a specification of 12A, 1 phase, separate coil voltage, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay range of 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X poly enclosure.
