Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring you confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if the line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, additional terminals can be added to accept the control power input from that switch, referred to as "remote start terminals," with considerations for different voltages involving "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 12 A 1-phase separate control voltage and remote start terminals for start/stop operation, a 24-60 V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 3.1-4.2 A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
