Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60 HP or 80 A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power required to close the contactor, and determine the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, such as a "direct-online starter" where the line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" configurations where control voltage differs from line voltage. Remote start terminals can be included for activation from an external switch, with configurations available for cases with identical or varying line and control voltage. The features include 12 A 1-phase remote start terminals, with start/stop functionality, a coil voltage range of 100-250 V AC/DC, an overload relay range of 7.6-10 A, and compliance with NEMA 4X standards in a polycarbonate housing.
