Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage being supplied, confirming if the system is single-phase or three-phase power. A starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor should be chosen. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, followed by selecting the overload by identifying a current range that includes the FLA. The starter can then be selected based on incoming power options, including "direct-on-line starter" for identical line and control power voltages, "separate control voltage" for different voltages, and options for "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. Key features of the motor starter include a 12A rating for single-phase direct online, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and overload protection rated at 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
