Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload, by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The optional criteria for selection include incoming power configuration, which could be a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if not the same. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, with the assumption that line voltage and control voltage are the same or differ in the case of "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the kit include a 12A rating, 1 phase operation, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 5.7-7.6A overload relay. The enclosure is constructed from NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate material.
