Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, begin by referring to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether the power is single-phase or three-phase and choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Select the control power necessary to close the contactor and choose an overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor from the previous step. For additional customization, consider incoming power options: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage, or "remote start terminals" if the starter requires activation from an external switch. If using different voltages for line and control power, the configuration is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 12A 1-phase separate coil voltage reset button, a coil rating of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload range of 10-13A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
