Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage specified on the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, determine the control power used to close the contactor, and select the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configuration as either a "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if voltage differs. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, which assumes line and control voltages are the same; if different, choose "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include 12A, 1-phase, separate control voltage + remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated at 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
