Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of supporting motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that covers the FLA from the first step. Optional criteria for selection include whether the line power will also be used as control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, referred to as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, terminals may be added for control power input from that switch, termed "remote start terminals." If different voltages are used for line and control power, it is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features of this kit include support for 16A, 3-phase operation, a separate coil voltage, start/stop functionality, a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload capacity of 7.6-10A, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
