Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate considering the input voltage and phase (1-phase or 3-phase). Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA, select the control power used to operate the contactor, and choose the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Additional options include the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if the line power is also the control power, a "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages, or including terminals for "remote start terminals" to activate the starter from an external switch. If using different voltages for line and control power, the configuration will be "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 16A 3-phase separate coil voltage start/stop with 100-250V AC/DC coil and 4.2-5.7A overload protection.
