Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Select the control power for the contactor, and choose the overload based on a current range that contains the FLA. The starter selection can be narrowed down further by criteria such as incoming power options, which include "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, "separate control voltage" for different control and line voltages, and "remote start terminals" to accept control input from an external switch. If different voltages are used, it is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include 16A 3-phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated at 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
