Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage. Ensure the motor is identified as single-phase or three-phase and choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload by picking a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages, or "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch with the assumption that line and control voltages are the same. For the model, features include 16A, three-phase operation, separate control voltage, start/stop functionality, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, a 4.2-5.7A overload relay, and compliance with NEMA 4X standards.
