Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters, with capabilities of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor's nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Select a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA and determine the control power needed to operate the contactor. The overload should be chosen from a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Additional selection criteria include determining if the incoming power will serve as control power, which could be classified as a "direct-online starter," or if a "separate control voltage" is required. Other options include adding terminals for external activation, known as "remote start terminals," with configurations available for different line and control voltage setups. The key features of the starter include a current rating of 16A, compatibility with 3-phase systems, a separate coil voltage, a start/stop function, and a coil voltage rating of 250-500V AC/DC, alongside a 13-16A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
