Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage on the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power for closing the contactor, and select the overload by ensuring the chosen current range includes the FLA from the first step. Optional criteria for the starter selection include incoming power configurations, with options for direct-online starters when the line power is the same as the control power, separate control voltage configurations, and remote start terminals that allow activation from an external switch. Key features of the starter include a 16A three-phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals and a start/stop 24-60V AC/DC coil, as well as a 5.7-7.6A overload relay.
